Our role and functions

… helping the UK get the most out of the OECD…

The UK can get a lot out of the OECD and the high quality work it produces.

The scope of activity which takes place at the Organisation is considerable, and involves a wide range of UK government departments. Our role is to provide support to departments in their engagement with the OECD, helping the UK get the most out of the OECD, and to promote UK interests as effectively as possible.

We do this in a number of ways:

• by liaising with and supporting UK delegates to committees and working parties.
• by ensuring the OECD is properly managed, and that its resources are well targeted and used effectively to benefit the UK.
• by promoting UK interests on technical issues between meetings (when appropriate) and in some technical committees.

See our Delegates’ Information Pack (p29) [PDF, 1 kb, new window] for more information on how we provide services to partners across government.

Our Policy Interests

The Delegation supports work on a wide variety of policy areas - you can explore them further by visiting our 'UK and OECD' pages.
