Following the landmark Health Ministerial in 2004, OECD activity in this are has greatly expanded. Publications such as the recent Health at a Glance set out pioneering OECD work in developing comparable statistics on health care in OECD member states on a growing range of indicators. Current health work is wide ranging, engaging with subjects such as the long term care of older people, private health insurance and health technologies.

The UK supports this work and OECD plans to extend and develop it.
